Faulty App & Why Secret Fees?

Why arent we disclosing "On the Phone Voice Menu" that customers are charged 50 cents to simply hear their balance? Is it a secret, a profitable secret? The phone service will not mention theres a fee, you just get charged for selecting a phone option to hear your balance. Is this good business?
UPDATE: Finally! Our company is discussing alternatives to ComData following their new subtle balance inquiry fees, faulty app, etc. We encourage other companies to do the same, please spread the word, hallelujah!
